Description

Classified as being between an elliptical and spiral galaxy in classification, this interesting target has a unique red, star forming region that really stands out.

Taken during a full moon in RGB OSC with a first light of my new Antlia Triband RGB Ultra filter. Advertised as a filter that can be used to capture RGB galaxies while cutting down on light pollution (the moon in this case!). I have to say I'm very impressed so far. The moon glow was present most of the night, but it did calibrate out while still maintaining blue's in the stars and target.

My seeing conditions were listed as poor with the jet stream almost right overhead. Combine that with the full moon, I usually wouldn't even attempt grabbing some galaxy data. Since it is typically clear on full moons and cloudy on new moons , I thought might as well give it a shot.
